The Future is NOW

Seems like a cliche'. But yes we are actually living in the future. This moment, today, right now IS the future. This is it. This is where the buck stops as my Dad used to say. It's time for humanity to put their money where their mouth is instead of just wanting more money.


It's the time to grow up, put your big kid pants on and dig in. And it's simple, really. Just listen to your heart. What is that 'thing' you've always wanted to learn but never had the time or thought you weren't capable of learning? What are the important relationships in your life needing repair? What did you love doing? When was the last time you did something you enjoy and lost your sense of time and whoosh! hours had passed? What was it? Take a few moments to answer these questions. NOW. Not later, not tomorrow, don't schedule the task. Do it this very moment, put it down on a napkin, write it on a receipt - use your favorite note-taking app or even just make a voice recording by leaving yourself a VM. BUT DO IT RIGHT NOW!


I will wait until you're done.


OK. All done right? Good. Now you are living in the future. Your REAL future. The real new YOU. You have just set your trajectory for the future of your life. Don't over-think it. Just let it be awhile. You might have written or said things that now you're thinking "Wait.. I don't want to spend my life just doing THAT!" But don't worry emergence will take good care of your future self.


It's a common human problem: getting yourself out of your own way. Well, if you really did what I've suggested in this article you've just moved yourself out of the way of your true intentions. Possibly your true path in life. Possibly just a step in the general direction, but the intention is key. True intention is unconscious. It's not something that magically works because you say you WANT something. Your whole being must be in alignment to truly set intentions which work at a sub-atomic level and that requires you to get out of your own way.


Think I tricked you, right? Yeah, I did. But that's what is necessary in this FUTURE LIFE. Being conscious of an unconscious act is another trick. An example of this putting your attention on your breath while you meditate for a few minutes every day. When your attention wanders elsewhere (and it WILL) you simply bring your focus back to paying attention to your breathing; everything about it, notice the sounds, the feelings of the air going in your nose and out of your throat, how your belly rises on in the inhale and sinks in on the exhale.


Another trick? Yeah I fooled you again. Most people, when they inhale --their stomach goes in and when they exhale, their stomach goes out. Try it again and think about having your stomach go out on the inhale and in on the exhale. This will hasten your conscious mind to pay attention to what is happening when your body is performing an unconscious act; like breathing.
